Failure to Listen | First Version

meWelcome!

Failure to Listen is for those of us who walk the earth feeling invisible and irrelevant. It is for those of us whose voices are never heard or understood. It is for us bottom feeders who are forced to the side lines of life, existing but not living. This blog was created to give me a voice and I hope people will listen because I do have a lot to share. I welcome others with similar feelings to share and join me in shouting, “I am Somebody!”

This blog is not for the faint of heart and diplomacy is not the intent. I encourage spirited discussions but not disrespectful statements or profanity. This is not a message board or a chat site, but an opportunity to share impactful and sometimes poignant experiences. Feel free to disagree with my opinions but please be mindful of your words.

Thank you in advance for your support and help.

  1. Angela, wow! An interesting blog. If you walk the world feeling invisible and irrelevant you would not be writing this blog. Reread “Thanitopsis”.

    1. I do feel that way at times, more so when I was younger. My years in practice taught me there are many from all walks of life who feel that way including me.

  2. Hi Angela, I think there are those who have felt marginalized in a number of ways, race being one of the predominant reasons. But there are those who have experienced the same type of frustration due to socio-economic or even geographic conditions. I grew up with the idea that there was a ‘hierarchy’ of prejudice that should be followed and it took me a few years to let loose of that idiocy. It’s often more difficult to open your mind when adults –parents– are urging you to keep it closed.

Thank you for this site. I love how you’ve reworked it and focused its direction.

    1. Hi Joe,

Do birds of a feather flock together? So many people here with similar stories.

Thank you , I am pleased you enjoy my blog.

      Time for another laptop….

      1. You hae certainly put your blog on the greatest problem that exists in this world. It is not just about various forms of bigotry but a thousand forms of ignorance. Information comes from everywhere and it is possible to learn from almost any situation or person but we live in a world where literally billions of people have their heads buried deeply, let’s just say buried, their ears and minds closed and a severe case of what I like to call “hardening of the categories” a more or less terminal illness which prevents learning. Those who understand the importance of learning and knowledge learn constantly throughout their lives. The rest seem content to be herded along by people most of us are intellectually coasting beside earning the description of being sheeple. Our nation was not built on or made great by such people. If we do not soon reverse our course we will be among the most pitied of nations, a process that has begun long ago..

I had to post your comments again, eloquently written words that echo my thoughts.

          Thank you, Bill.

  3. I’m glad you had that as a mission statement. It’s amazing finding people like you who actually care about others and wanting to see justice.
