Big things ahead

It's my life and My Story
It’s my life and My Story

I just returned from a rally,
Invisible and all.
For consolation, I spoke with a friend--
Big things ahead!

I have held back on many personal experiences.
Experiences that should be told and not taken to the grave,
But I want them to be meaningful,
Helpful to others like myself.

In a few months, the story will unfold,
And it will not only be mine but stories from others,
Stories from those without white privilege;
Stories of voices unheard and people unseen....

You don't care and I don’t care if you don’t care!!!
Because YOU are not my target
My target are minorities living in the hell of white privilege
So this does not concern you because you are white privileged!

And I am excluding YOU,
Like you just did me,
And you always will
As long as this world values your hypocrisy and lies.

You are white and privileged
The world is YOURS!
You don't need to worry
I don't matter???

That we shall see,
David versus Goliath,
Goliath always wins
But this time not without serious injuries.

I promise!

  1. Racism is very painful! I hope you have a chance to visit BONDFIRES.org and read “Un-Packing Racism” an interview with Rev. David to gain more insight about how race and white privilege impact people of color and to know that many white people are stepping up to shoulder the work that needs to be done. You do matter! When you began to think that you don’t matter…they have actually won! Keep speaking your truths and join your voice to so many others that are speaking out and working hard to eradicate racism!-Izzie J
