    1. Hi Claude,

      Glad to hear from you!

I would say a friend is someone who knows more about you than most and; still, accepts you.

First time using my IPad to add text to image, and I didn’t want to interfere with the formatting of the quote.

Want to translate…I am in non-thinking mood while I focus on other things. 🙂

It’s been a long time, since we last spoke.

  1. Crap! Even YOU could not know ALL about yourself. So, the quote is rubbish, sad, ultra pessimistic, and actually telling you that friends do not exist.

Um……..now what would the author of this cliché believe is “love”? Probably something sweet and sugar coated stuff as well.

    Here’s one of mine:

A friend is someone who, while the rest of the mishpokhe is sucking up to you, will criticize you even at the risk of losing your friendship.

  2. I agree. The writer had a jubilantly charmed or a delusional life.

“A friend is someone who, while the rest of the mishpokhe is sucking up to you, will criticize you even at the risk of losing your friendship.”
That sounds good also. I gather “mishpokhe” interpreted as fair-weathered friends. Yes, as long as they don’t do it all the time….and then there will be perceptual differences of ‘all the time’.

    1. That writer drowned together with his wife.

I use mishpokhe for all except myself. But that’s just me. To the rest of the mishpokhe it means family. Well, if they know the language, hehe.
