Do You Know?

Martin Luther King Jr #quote
This poem goes out to #JudgeJosephJohnston; it was inspired by your ruling.  Please #FreeJustina

Do you know ?

Do you know how many times I’ve been verbally abused?
Do you know the names I’ve been called?
Do you know how many times I’ve been called the black bitch?
Do you know how many times I’ve been told to fly back to Africa?
Do you know how many times I’ve been referred to as “it”?
Do you know how many times I’ve been invisible?

AND

Do you know how many times I’ve still cared for those patients?
Do you know how many complaints I’ve never had?

Do you really know?

Do You Know

  1. I do know how many times, you have told me, and for this I know it is true. I feel more sorry for the people that have discredited and painted you in a supposed lack luster that should not even apply. Their hearts are colored rot for they will not ever be complete.

    1. Claude, you are sweet. Those people will never be complete but very successful! As a matter of fact, they are today’s and tomorrow’s heroes. Funny….I was once bothered by such thoughts. Now I smile and observe. Let them have the world. I am content in mine.

      How are you?
