Questions for Boston Children’s Hospital: Why was Justina Pelletier admitted to a locked psychiatric unit for 7-9 months?

Somatic Symptom Disorder  (SSD) is not considered a severe mental illness requiring acute in-patient psychiatric care.  What were the indications for Justina Pelletier’s  in-patient admission?  Patients with severe mental illness who require in-patient care are acutely psychotic  or at risk for self -harm.    Was this the case for Justina Pelletier?
