Marchers wore combat fatigues. The majority were armed, boasting weapons from pistols and automatic weapons to mounted machine guns and rocket-propelled grenades.
Militants also marched wearing suicide vests, packed with explosives.
Like many other countries in the ME, Iraq was artificially created to mainly serve British interests without taking into account the reality of the people living in that area. What is happening today is the direct result of that. Still the “West” refuses to learn from it.
To end this shit, I strongly believe the region needs to get rid of these artificial states and create new countries in line with the reality of the people living there.
Example: The Kurds are a people of more or less 30 million, but without a country to call their own. Possibly they will take advantage of the current day turmoil and finally will be able to create a, NOT artificial, home for themselves soon.
That is a great point! Will they allow each other to do so? Seems people crave power. The unending fight in the area seems to be tribal or sectarian or religious violence with loyalties changing at any given moment.
I see those men with suicide vests packed with explosives, my goodness. Who does that? And look the people are not afraid! Why?
This fight is deeply cultural. I do not think there is anything we can do except facilitate a coming together of the different factions to negotiate mutually agreeable terms. We can support the enforcement of those terms while minimizing lives lost and building future goodwill.
Perhaps, after so many years the real victims– families and others who value life and want a different future will prevail.
I think we all need to learn to live together. And to do that we need to learn to value each others’ customs. We do not have to accept everything; however, we should not use those customs against them to make all arabs terrorists or fiends who behead innocent people.
As long as people believe they’re acting on behalf of a higher power, this shit will blossom and stay alive from here to eternity.
As long as people will follow a leader they will stay in deep shit.
As long as there is oil in that region, and the world stays depending on same, the “West” will support this shit at all costs.

Because I’m too close to the people of Israel and therefore probably loaded with prejudices, I will refrain from discussing this matter here. Suffice to say that I’m one of those cheering the people of Masada and the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising and will never side with anyone trying to take away even an inch from the land of Israel, not even if that would mean the total destruction of Earth.
