Outrage In Missouri Town After Police Shooting Of 18-Yr-Old Man

Update: Ferguson no longer under siege

Ferguson is no longer under siege, and gone are the open prisons—all due to one act. Missouri highway patrol captain Ronald S. Johnson, Ferguson native, is now in charge of security. Ferguson residents welcomed the change as a token of goodwill.

This one act by the governor of Missouri reduced tensions in the town of Ferguson. I believe Captain Johnson is off to a wonderful start with brave, bold, and benevolent actions. Gone are the armed vehicles, weapons, and army uniforms. Ferguson residents are free.
In addition, Ferguson police officer Darren Wilson was identified as the officer who murdered Michael Brown, the teenager on his way to his grandmother’s house. He was also about to start college. #MichaelBrown was executed by Officer Darren Wilson, a six-year veteran and president of Ferguson’s Ethical Society.

Since his identity was made known, stories of support and fund-raising for Officer Darren Wilson by the Ku Klux Klan (KKK) have further terrorized black Americans. Images of the Ku Klux Klan are powerful triggers that evoke fear in black and brown people. What is the KKK intent? Do they want to stage a comeback, or are they coming out of the closet? They have a base.

Still, no arrest for the shooting death of Mike Brown has been made. Reports from eyewitnesses, security cameras (new), and the Ferguson police department show a picture that is consistently inconsistent with the statements of Officer Wilson. So far, no video footage has emerged.

President Obama sent the FBI and Attorney General Eric Holder to Ferguson to conduct an independent investigation with the local authorities–the same local authorities who brutalized the community over the last several days and defended the murder of an unarmed teenager.

Eric Holder is brilliant, so I am confident that he will dig deep to find justice. To make the digging easier, he should work directly with residents of the community. We have the technology to work directly with families and communities to gather factual, comprehensive, and accurate data that will lead to justice. There may be scared eyewitnesses who need encouragement to come forward. Hopefully, someone out there also has a video of the incident.

Working through local authorities to arrive at the truth or justice does not work. The approach is based on erroneous assumptions. Here is one example of an erroneous ASSumption: The police always tell the truth, so whatever the police say is fact and evidence.  Remember, a veteran Ferguson police officer murdered an unarmed teenager. Then, the same police department created open prisons in Michael Brown’s community. The same officers intimidated the community for peacefully protesting the “accidental” cold-blooded murder of an unarmed teenager by Ferguson police officer Darren Wilson. By the way, Officer Wilson will receive monetary assistance from the Klu Klux Klan, an organization that considers him to be a “hero” for executing a black teenager.

This blogger is skeptical that justice will be served. The lack of information or poor-quality information may lead to no criminal charges or minor reprimands for murder.

What do you think? How do you feel about the Klu Klux Klan’s brazen support of Officer Wilson?

Black life does matter

Update:

In Ferguson, violence flared up again this morning.

I believe  the KKK orchestrated the looting.   Committed to the destruction of black and brown people, the KKK will do anything.
Inciting fear,  anger and violence (looting) will inevitably undermine justice for Michael Brown  by the KKK or  anyone else.

Autopsy showed Michael Brown died from multiple gun shot wounds.

Today, Ferguson police stated they will not  release the name of the Officer who murdered Michael Brown unless the officer is charged.

Over the last 24 hours,  two names were identified as the Officer:  Darren Wilson and Bryan Willman of  Ferguson Police Dept.

  1. It is good that they conduct their affairs openly.

People of goodwill will shield their impressionable children and teach their maturing children.

Any other than responds solely emotionally is equally entangled with them.

Pure hearts and cool heads are needed at hand.

    1. Hi CMICC,

I thought about that….Look at the Eric Garner case…we have transparency on what happened yet no arrests. Enough evidence to at least arrest NYPD Officer Daniel Pantaleo, why is a free man, paid by tax payers? That is transparency…that is what it looks like in some cases. Look still no justice.

Transparency alone does not seem to make a difference, why?

  2. This show of excessive force during and after the tragic shooting of Michael Brown should make it clear to those not yet paying attention that the Homeland Security apparatus was built to, er, secure the homeland. Thanks for keeping us updated on events on the ground, Angela.

    1. Hi Jeff,

Good point about Homeland Security built to secure the homeland. Forgotten are values and missions used to rationalize the creation Homeland Security, the biggest threat to American’s liberties. What surprises is the role of HHS.

Things are the way they are because that is the way our gov’t wants it, make no mistake. If the current system were not beneficial, we would see real change.

Remove the incentives to murder black and brown folks and change the culture. But the government will not. One has to ask, why?

Oh, you are welcome. I try…it is hard to keep up with this epidemic of police violence.
