White on White Crime : Keep Focused

PROFESSOR GRIFF IS A GIMMICK HE IS FAKE pt.1

A recent conversation came to mind as I watched and listened to the video.  All day could be spent pointing out different communication styles, cultural differences, the lack guns or violent threats, but that is off-topic.

More white people kill white people, and more black people kill black people. You are more likely to be killed by someone you know, and that is a fact. Most white people know white people and live among white people  and most black people know black people and live among black people. Naturally, there are black on black crimes, as there  are white and white crimes (domestic abuse, serial murderers, homicides and  suicides) . Crimes are violent in any complexion.

In addition, data require understanding context to provide reliable interpretations that are meaningful as well as accurate. Pointing out black on black crime for the purpose of feeding stereotypes, detracts  from focusing on  police violence against black and brown folks as well as solutions.

Furthermore,  when anglo-values are the contexts used to interpret data (findings), data validity and integrity become suspect.  Black people and all non-white cultures are  judged by anglo-values and not their unique values. Why is that? And why does that make a difference?

I believe Golden Lady’s anger colored her perspectives and in a discussion she might also accuse me of being white. Similar to anger, anglo-values color interpretations.

Golden Lady voiced feelings of darker pigmented black people who  are the very bottom of the barrel  based on anglo-values of society,  including black communities.   Remember,  what other people think about you is NONE of your business!

Resentment builds over time when the focus is on what others think,  instead of your own thoughts, gratitudes and future.   Pigmented debates lead to further resentment and isolation, creating fragmentation and division within the black community.   The end-result is STRESS with NO RELIEF, leaving us bitter or abandoning our cultures.

There is a world full of diverse people….In choosing opportunities, remember some like it hot; some like it cold and some like in the middle. Find people who like it YOUR way; stop worrying about the others who don’t.

  1. Some very positive sentiments Angela.

Collective indicia emerge from the aggregate of individual choices. The collective indicia can be the intent, but can only be affected and effected by acting through the individuals.

    1. Angela, as FtL is practically the only means of engagement, please create a post for the purpose of our contact… to use like texting.

      1. LOL……I have no choice but to cut back on my social media presence…if I plan to accomplish the things I wish…..How about helping me? And you will be backstage….. w/ complete access. ; )

          1. CM, I am glad you are….

            I have no excuse

However, lack of sleep makes one absent minded so I require constant reminders unless it is on my calendar. The best app in the world is the Find a phone app. I use it daily to locate my phone.

        1. I have served as a personal confidant and as an objective professional commentator. Correct me if I am wrong, but I have had a positive and productive influence. How else can I contribute to your personal and professional pursuits?

            1. I understand going into one’s self to heal and to find or create new empowerment. I have been inside myself most of my life. Balance is good. I can not say what is good for you, just find your balance.

  2. Morning Angela.

I think geographical location would play a great deal with this statement. Each area or zone would have its own unique signature. A home study may be more of a solution rather than a group generalized. But as I see it now, in certain, areas gangs run the show and are taking away the neighborhoods right a walk around without a police gun pointed at you.

I really don’t believe black or white runs the program, gangs do.

  3. Interesting though, the way that levels of skin pigment equate to rights/perceived rights. In South Africa, racial discrimination around immigrant (from Africa) right to be in the country is based on how ‘darkness’ of skin, and it is a means of profiling which fits in with the old colonialist story of ‘the darker you are, the less right to citizenship you have’. Skin lightening creams have damaged the faces of women. Darker = less rights is a colonial heritage, I think. It comes from an inequality set to maintain ‘whiteness’ or the belief that the fairer a person is, the more rights that person ought to have. It’s a racial legacy which sought to divide ‘blackness’ and the reason Biko argued for the value of Black identities.

  4. Here’s something interesting to add to the discussion of white-on-white crime from http://www.Vox.com/2014/8/21/6053811/white-on-white-murder
“…it’s important to understand that 36% of those killed by whites are women – a far higher share than you see with black murderers.”

In other words that whole racist trope about white men have always spouted about white women needing to be protected from Black men is complete and utter nonsense. It’s white men who are killing white women at the highest rates. But the media will never publicize that. It doesn’t fit with their preferred narrative.

  5. Hello i am kavin, its my first time to commenting anyplace,
when i read this paragraph i thought i could also make comment due to this good piece of writing.

  6. Right on for talking about this subject. I’m also glad people in independent Black media have playlists talking about this WOW issue. Most crime is intraracial which people can’t seem to understand. Watching Advise Show Media’s WOW playlist was eye-opening, to say the least. I also despise how people talk about WOW crime as “not that bad” as their minority counterparts. There have been times where I wanted to throw up hearing about some of those WOW cases.
