Politics: Carla Maloney Another Bigoted Politician Dehumanizes Black NFL Players

The Pennsylvania GOP official who authored Facebook posts describing NFL players who kneel in protest during the national anthem as “baboons” has resigned.

Using the pseudonym “Carla Belich Fueller,” former Republican Committee of Beaver County secretary Carla Maloney lambasted the football players, calling them “overpaid Blacks” who needed to “go to Africa” if they didn’t like it here, Newsweek reported. Maloney’s incendiary posts reportedly came after Pittsburgh Steelers players chose to remain in the locker room during the anthem ahead of their Sept. 24, 2017 game in Chicago.

Chip Kohser, chairman of the RCBC, confirmed to The Beaver County Times that Maloney made the posts before being elected secretary of the committee earlier this year.

Carla Maloney, Republican Committee Secretary of Beaver County, Pennsylvania, said:

“Tired of these over paid ignorant blacks telling me what I should believe in,” she wrote in one post. “I will tell you what I believe in — and that’s our Flag, the National Anthem and America period, end of story. You don’t like it here, go to Africa see how you like it there. We’re all Americans; not African American not Hispanic American. WE’RE ALL AMERICAN.”

Carla Maloney’s statement is an inside peek at what is an acceptable conversation among Trump’s Republican puppets. Yeah, they say it is not representative of the GOP, but it’s ostensibly the official Republican party rhetoric.  She was not fired but allowed to resign where she will probably work “out of site” (like the others) for the GOP.

Questions:

  • Is Carla Maloney representative of a great America?
  • Does dehumanizing Black NFL players make America great?
  • Is Trump great for Americans? Are Republicans?

Carla Maloney, a Republican Committee Secretary of Beaver County Pennsylvania, claimed we are all Americans yet dehumanized black NFL players who exercised their constitutional rights.  The Black NFL players protested to raise awareness of corruption within the US criminal justice system where the murders of black children, women, and men are unofficially legal. #TakeAKnee is to raise awareness of a U.S. law enforcement criminal justice system that profits from #massincarceration and the exploitation of people of color.   Traditional media does not provide unbiased or fair reporting on this crisis affecting communities of color. They often provide no coverage.

I support Colin Kaepernick and the NFL players who #TakeAKnee.  They are heroes to raise awareness of a criminal system of corruption and extra-judicial murders of innocent black people by police officers sworn to uphold the law as well as serve and protect ALL Americans not just white Americans.  Also, a US criminal justice system that is a mockery and travesty of justice.

More Questions:

  • Have white Americans always felt this way?
  • Or did Trump and FoxNews incite this tsunami of bigotry, hate, and abuse of power?
  • Will bigotry, hatred, and violence make America great?

Trump’s make America great again, MAGA is code for white people. MAGA brings forth the bigots in white America who think to make America great means dehumanizing other races, religions, and ethnicities to justify their innate violence.  While a sad commentary on America, its people, and the government it supports, it is America’s history of how it gained power– pitting countries against each other, dehumanizing groups,  and inciting violence and hatred within America and throughout the world.

That is why I will continue to sit for America’s national anthem.

  1. Angela, for people like her I say if you don’t like the protest go back to the caves of Europe were you came from! Our ancestors shedded more blood building and defending this country then any johnnie come lately. Most of her ancestors were given everything they have and you going to tell us there’s a wrong place to protest being killed by people we pay to protect us. She can kiss me where the sun don’t shine!
