This post consists of four articles from the HuffPost. Each is followed by a brief commentary that points out double standards, disparity, bias and hypocrisy in the media and Trump. Despite traditional media’s role in coddling white criminals and helping Trump incite violence, it’s vital Americans vote to curtail the power of the madman who currently occupies the white house.

The bomber, Cesar Sayoc, was motivated by Trump’s incendiary remarks and support of violence towards his critics.

Cesar Sayoc Identified As Mail Bomb Suspect

Police have arrested a suspect in connection with at least a dozen packages containing likely pipe bombs mailed in the past week to people critical of President Donald Trump.

Cesar Sayoc, 56, of South Florida was taken into custody on Friday, FBI Director Chris Wray confirmed at a press conference.

Sayoc has been charged with five federal crimes ― interstate transportation of an explosive, illegal mailing of explosives, making threats against former presidents and certain other persons, threatening interstate communications, and assaulting current and former federal officers ― the Department of Justice said. He faces up to 48 years in prison.

When law enforcement arrested him on Friday in Plantation, Florida, they also took possession of a van covered in stickers supporting Trump and criticizing Democratic officials.

Sayoc is a registered Republican and a self-described promoter and booking agent. He has a history of multiple arrests, including for felony grand theft and misdemeanor retail theft.

Authorities were initially vague about the content of the packages, calling them simply “suspected explosive devices.” Wray elaborated at Friday’s press briefing that each device contained roughly 6 inches of PVC pipe, as well as a small clock and wiring. “These are not hoax devices,” he said.

Wray noted that the investigation was ongoing and warned there could be other packages not yet intercepted.

Note there were no charges of domestic terrorism, will those come later or not at all?

While Sayoc was charged with five felonies, none mentioned terrorism. One source reported further investigation might result in additional charges. Will this act of domestic terrorism be downplayed or called out? If Sayoc crimes are not acts of domestic terrorism, this terrorist bomb scare before the midterm election will be another example of how structural racism sustains itself by stacking the stats to feed stereotypes.

Cesar Sayoc ‘Found A Father In Trump,’ Family Attorney Tells Anderson Cooper

An attorney for the family of bomb suspect Cesar Sayoc said in a CNN interview Friday that the troubled Florida man “found a father in Donald Trump.”

Sayoc, 56, was arrested Friday and charged with five federal crimes.  He’s suspected of sending mail bombs to 14 Democratic political figures and other targets of the president’s harsh attacks. The van he was apparently living in was plastered with photos of Trump and pro-Trump slogans.

“This was someone lost,“ attorney Ron Lowy told Anderson Cooper on CNN Friday.

He said Sayoc was “abandoned by his father” and was desperately seeking an identity. He “was looking for anything and he found a father in Trump,” said Lowy. Sayoc had never been politically active until Trump’s campaign for the presidency, said Lowy, who represented Sayoc in the past on various criminal charges.

According to Cesar Sayoc’s lawyer, the 56-year-old man had ‘daddy issues.’ He found a father in Trump.  Although Sayoc has a long history of violence, already traditional media appeared sympathetic, his lawyer’s statement nationally published and barely any recent images of him blasted on social media. His life struggles have received more national coverage than the recent racially-motivated murders of two elderly black people by a white man or the continued killings of innocent black men by police officers.

The disparity in coverage when a white person commits a crime is what causes many POC not to trust traditional media. Also, it’s a reason why Trump’s criticisms of the media works. He’s correct the media is biased and does misinform the public.

The man arrested on suspicion of mailing at least a dozen suspicious packages to Democrats criticized by Donald Trump is a big fan of the president, with a long criminal history.

Sayoc is a registered Republican and called himself a promoter and booking agent. He was also an amateur bodybuilder and worked as a stripper, according to The Associated Press. He was once sentenced to probation for a bomb threat, the AP reported.

According to The New York Times, Sayoc threatened a power company customer representative in a dispute over a utility bill. He said the bombing would be worse “than 9/11” and that he planned to blow the agent’s head off, according to records released by the Miami-Dade state attorney’s office, the Times reported.

Sayoc appeared to be living for years in his van, which was parked in a lot outside a strip mall in Aventura, Florida, and was showering at a nearby beach or at a local fitness center, according to the AP. The van was plastered with pro-Trump slogans, photos of the president and at least one sticker saying, “CNN sucks.”

Donald Trump Claims Media Is Using Pipe Bomb Scare To ‘Score Points’ Against GOP

President Donald Trump attacked the news media yet again at a rally on Friday, just hours after law enforcement apprehended a suspect in connection with over a dozen package bombs mailed to Democratic public figures and CNN this week.

“The media has a major role to play, whether they want to or not. They have a major role to play as far as tone,” Trump said, as the crowd booed and chanted “CNN sucks!” “The media’s constant unfair coverage, deep hostility and negative attacks only serve to drive people apart and undermine healthy debate.”

“For example, we’ve seen an effort by the media to use the sinister actions of one individual to score points against me and the Republican Party,” he added, in an apparent reference to this week’s pipe bomb suspect, who was a big fan of Trump. The suspect’s van was covered with decals and messages praising Trump and attacking the president’s critics ― including a sticker saying “Dishonest Media” and “CNN Sucks,” echoing Trump’s own frequent vilification of news media.

The mail bombs were all sent to people who have been critical of Trump, including former President Barack Obama, former President Bill Clinton, Rep. Maxine Waters (D-Calif.) and Sen. Kamala Harris (D-Calif.).

After the man arrested turned out to be an avid Trump supporter galvanized to violence by Trump’s rhetoric,  instead of apologizing for calling the bomb scare a hoax or false flag or blaming CNN and Democrats Trump continued to incite violence towards the media and all those who oppose him.   Is this the behavior of a president who wants to make America great?

I want a president who is not a coward.  I want a president who is an adult.  I want a president who will be accountable and not blame others for his cruelty, inhumanity, and incompetence.   How about you?

We have an opportunity to reduce his power on November 6. Please vote despite evidence of election fraud and voter suppression in the red States. Early voting is adviced, if possible.

  1. Angela, things won’t be any different no matter what party holds office. Obama smiled and said all the right things and so-called Black people were still being gun down, mass murder was still occurring and we were still blowing up countries. I believe our people can make a difference because of who we are, “If my people who are called by my name humble themselves, and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land.” 2chronicles 7:14. The American people have so many distractions and are bombarded with so much negativity they (we) have a tendency to just tune out and turn on Netflix. I hope all is well with you!!

    1. Hey Ruddy, I’m okay just figuring out how to get out of dodge before winter.

“If my people who are called by my name humble themselves, and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land.” 2chronicles 7:14.

Rudy doesn’t that passage alarm you? I read it and imagined slave owners reading it to slaves who then became submissive and docile. You know while Catholicism branded my mind I don’t believe in religion.

Based on your quote, what would you suggest Black people do?

  2. Angela I don’t believe in religion either! I believe in the Scriptures! Answer me this, at the rate things are going now do you see a political solution to the problems we have? Can you think of any other feasible solution that we all can agree on to solve the many problems we have today?

    1. Rudy, does that mean you believe in the Bible? Why? Do you think the Scriptures are the key to the solution?

A feasible solution I believe starts with understanding our multi-cultural selves. Most people don’t know what culture means, and they think it’s a race thing. For example, whites believe culture is a black thing and has nothing to do with them. The ability to understand each other is paramount to effective and productive communication. How can you understand another’s culture if you don’t understand your own? Most of the problems we see today have to do with misinformation and misinterpretation of cultural differences. It’s a good starting point that will address many issues we have today.

  3. Angela I guess I really didn’t answer your question. The slave statement would be to involve to answer here! What so-called Black people should do, repent! Basically follow the Ten Commandments. Just doing that would change our lives dramatically. The Most High makes promises according to the laws he made. There were good and bad consequences to be had. The Most High doesn’t change. Over the last 50 years I’ve seen the morality of this country go down hill and the love of money reign supreme. Black people have been caught up in this madness. We need to separate spiritually for sure and if possible physically. Let’s put the Most High to the test! This is Satans’ world for now don’t you see all the signs from government representatives, clergy esp. Catholicism, Hollywood and the music industry it’s right in your face. The people have changed half don’t care and the half just trying to survive. Yes our only hope is doing what’s right in the Almightys’ eyes.

    1. Rudy, I don’t study the Scriptures, but some stories stand out from childhood. Yes, today is reminiscent of Biblical times when God wielded his wrath to destroy the wicked. What will that look like in modern society?

The universe works in mysterious ways, and I trust in the universe.

  4. Hi Angela, I love our conversations what a challenge! You know Catholicism is the Bible (our history) mix in with paganism? So some of the things you learned as child are lies. Things like Mary worship, confessions,Trinity and Sunday worship not in the Bible, and that’s not even half of it, so everything you learn as a child about the Most High and the Bible forget that and start over. Angela you seem to be a intelligent person to me, so how can you trust in a mysterious universe? To me someone has to develop laws and structure! How has man done? So far as culture is concerned, that has nothing to do with how Black people are being treated here and around the world, it’s an emotion called Hate and it goes straight to the top. The Bible tells us best how to control and get rid of that sin. Angela you’re in my thoughts and prayers!

    1. Rudy I’m enjoying our discussion. I don’t think you understand.
Culture includes the Scriptures you read. Culture has everything to do with what we see today. It’s an integral part of our attitude, behavior, beliefs, and values. To fully understand the Bible you need to understand the culture, in particular, ancient culture. How else can you interpret the words or understand their meaning? Remember the Bibles publicly available have undergone multiple interpretations, how can you put your faith in its words when those words were used to justify many atrocities?

Despite earning a degree in chemistry at Cornell, I can appreciate there are many things about the universe we don’t understand and I believe in its power.

  5. I remember hearing that story and it was just insane with how he wasn’t charged. Even though I’m not a fan of his DNC targets, that’s an act of terrorism by mailing all those bombs. When I did research about this Cesar Sayoc idiot, I found out his previous employer at a pizzeria could only hire him for the night shift because no one would see his disgusting bigot-mobile during daylight hours. Even though he was anti-LBGT, his former boss (who is a lesbian, BTW) didn’t feel threatened even when he talked about eradicating anyone who identified with those sexual orientations in addition to committing genocide against non-Whites. She must have low-key supported him because she talked about how punctual of a work he was and apparently never did anything wrong even though any sane person would’ve fired him on site if he waxed genocidal ambitions assuming he didn’t get arrested after the fact.

    1. Hi Curtis, that is white privilege: The ability to drive a disgusting bigot-mobile without being accosted or stopped by law enforcement. What I don’t understand is why additional charges did not include terrorism.

      1. Exactly! How can anyone drive a bigot-mobile without being pulled over while only having the inconvenience of working exclusively night shifts at work? In addition to that commentary by his ex-employee complimenting him, I heard similar words from that terrorist who did the Thousand Oaks shooting (side note: Blue Lives Matter is STILL silent about that matter) about how his roommates and friends said he was a nice guy and everything. Even when they murder, some people they know will still be on code. Maybe not the victim’s families, obviously, but this is just shameful.

I know, right? How are those packages NOT fodder for terrorism especially when he mailed them to current and former politicians? I hate to sound like a bleeding heart liberal, but you know if someone did the same thing to GOP politicians, then they would get charged from jump street for terrorism.

        1. Curtis, the image I had of Ian David Long, the marine terrorist from Thousand Oaks actually disappeared from my post and my media files. I kid you not. I had to upload the image again. Isn’t that weird? Looks like “they” don’t want his image on record, wonder why?

I suspect this has to do with the narratives pumped to the public and attempts to rewrite history to fit those stereotypical narratives. SMH

          1. I’m sorry that happened to you about that missing photo. That is strange, but I can see how it could’ve happened. I had a similar issue involving posting a link on one of my reviews from one of my blogs, so I had to use the Internet Archive to correct the dead link.

That makes a lot of sense and it plays off not just a partisan bias, but an establishment bias.

            1. Exactly! Curtis, it nice to find someone who sees what I see. I’m in Atlanta for a visit and it’s wonderful to see people who look like me. It feels like home and this is my first time here.

            2. No problem. I hope you’re having a great visit in that city. I’ve been to Georgia before, but never Atlanta though. It’s great that you’re having a good time in that city while feeling like you’re home there.
