Exercise: Did It!

✅Did It! Worked out on the elliptical for about 40 minutes. Didn’t record until my watch asked if I wanted to record my elliptical work out, such a smart watch. Again HR was high in the 150’s. I felt good except towards the end I felt ill so I finished up by cooling down.

It’s gonna be hard to stay motivated during the winter. I’ll have to find ways to make going to the gym exciting and fun.

What exercise did you do today?

      1. Well, Angela, you’ve given me the opening to inform you that just yesterday (11-01) I took up residence in an “adult residential care home.” I had a good, restful sleep last night and hope for the same when I shut down this computer (an Apple that my daughter had refurbished for $275…my first experience with Apple). My entry created a “foursome” of residents: three Asian-blooded ladies, 90, 92 and 94 yo; and me, at 77 next week/10th a relative “kid on the block.” They are amazingly alert and functioning, sitting at our common dining table, handling their own food portions; taking medicines from the TLC hands of the RN/proprietress, putting the meds in their mouths and swallowing them with seeming ease. I’m Impressed! This “change of life” for me became necessary due to my congenitally crippled spine that has been incrementally bending forward since age 13. So–in perhaps too many words, that’s “how I’m doing.”

        1. Hi Bob. Sorry. How are you adjusting mentally to your new home? Do you have scoliosis? Not sure what I’ll do if I require that level of care.
On the brighter side, sounds like you have an opportunity to go for an older woman.lol.

          1. Dear Angela, I’m still not “here” mentally. I’ve been shuttling back and forth from my 50-year home (very close by!), keeping up with the flow there. But I must make the transition, and the sooner the better. It’s really a wonderful place to while away what I expect to be my final three years on this earth. The core (proprietress’) family of four is my style of humanity at its finest; and my fellow residents are congenial and accepting. As for an “older woman,” as it happens my first-and-only-love wife was 6.5 years older than I (at marriage 30-23, at passing 79-72), and Masako was and will remain all I’ll ever need.

I suppose I have scoliosis but never had it diagnosed. A GP along the way used “stenosis,” but to me they’re just words.

        2. Bob, your comment went to moderation for some reason. I didn’t realize until this morning. That’s an adjustment I hope I never have to make. But it sounds like you’re making the best of it.

          1. Angela, I guess I’m at fault. That comment required a step that I chose to skip over, and apparently “moderation” was the result. Plus, my just-prior comment required the same thing, and I did it. Now I see the same dam’ requirement below, so I guess I’ll have to waste more time. I truly, truly hate computers, and I guess the sentiment is returned in full. I’m assuming the “problem” is that my daughter set me up with this Apple computer for use here at the care home, and maybe Mac and Apple don’t communicate? A pox on ’em both! (I also tried to “like” you above but was unable to do so….) Hmmm — I suppose I shouldn’t be complaining to you: you seem to be a technology “ace”!

  1. Way to go, Angela! That sounds like a good plan for exercising with alternating different types of workouts. I want to have some time to exercise in-between work and NaNoWriMo.
