Exercise: Did It!

Did it! I jogged today. It wasn’t easy getting out the door. It took a bit to convince myself to head over to the gym. Once there and warmed up, I was energized and jogged instead of a slow walk.

Pre-exercise BP 143/94 HR 69. Post-exercise BP 123/97 HR 79
During exercise: Average HR 133 Maximum HR 150
I felt great. I stopped earlier than usual.

My elevated blood pressure is not related to exercise but rather medication-induced. I feel great, and that is the nature of the beast called hypertension. You feel great while it harms your cardiovascular system. Unfortunately, for some, the first sign of a problem may be a stroke or a heart attack, or worse yet, sudden death from a massive heart attack. The reason hypertension is called the silent killer.

While I held the medication that affected my blood pressure, it will take a few days to clear my system.

Glad I made it to the gym. What exercise did you do today?

  1. That’s awesome! I’m maintaining and slowly increasing my daily steps to 2k here with 2500 being my next incremental goal
