Exercise: Did It!

Did it! I did a HIIT (high-intensity interval training) workout where I ran until my HR got to 170. I walked until it slowed down to 140-155 and then repeated the cycle. It felt awesome! The terrain was flat, and I exercised for 50 minutes. The scenery at the Charles River was magnificent.

Pre-exercise BP 134/98. HR 101
Post-exercise BP 155/111 HR 89
Average HR 158; Maximum HR 178
Most of the workout, 62%, was in zone 5. That’s not great but it’s an improvement.

There is something magical about exercise. I haven’t lost any weight, but I feel fantastic. I believe my HR becomes rapid quickly because I am out of shape and carrying more weight than last year. Recently stopped the old blood pressure medications and a started new one. What a difference in terms of fatigue and mood!

I did my exercise. What exercise did you do today?
