Editor’s Note: Merry Christmas and Happy New Year

It’s been a long time since my last post, that will change.   Looking forward to the New Year!!!

“Peace cannot be kept by force.  It can only be achieved by understanding.” – Albert Einstein

Peace

If peace means accepting second class citizenship, then I don’t want it. If peace means keeping my mouth shut in the midst of evil and injustice, then I don’t want it. If peace means being complacent and accepting the status quo, then I don’t want it. If peace means being passive, then I don’t want it. If peace means a willingness to be exploited and humiliated, then that’s the kind of peace that I don’t want—-DR. KING (from his speech in Louisville Kentucky , 1956)

That is white Americans’ definition of peace for Black people and other ethnic groups.  Personally, I would rather die fighting for real peace and freedom.

Following the Soul

Following the Soul

Each day, I find myself walking away yet nothing changes. I wonder: What do I seek? Where am I going? Am I afraid?… What am I walking away from and why now?

Then I stumbled upon  this quote by Rumi:

All day I think about it, then at night I say it. Where did I come from, and what am I supposed to be doing? I have no idea. My soul is from elsewhere, I’m sure of that, and I intend to end up there. #quotes

Following my soul….wherever it leads that is where I will go…

But when I start to tell them,
They think I’m telling lies.
I say,
It’s in the reach of my arms,

Rumi Quotes: Life and the Soul

It may be that the satisfaction I need depends on my going away, so that when I've gone and come back, I'll find it at home
