I Am So Fucking Sick Of This World

I am so fucking sick of this world: The bullshit from all sides and the pretense that we live in some sort of democracy where everyone is treated equally or has equal access to basic justice.   I am so fucking sick of the bullshit I hear coming from so-called pundits and experts who fortify the foundation of lies, denials and inequality.

In the eyes of those that benefit from the status quo, racism is non-existent.  Black people are not denied basic access to decent housing or healthcare.  Police brutality doesn’t exist.  It is justified for cops to drive up to a playground and without communication and within seconds shoot and kill a 13-year-old kid playing with his toy gun.

This in a country where the NRA exalts the rights of white men and women to own guns but remains silent when such rights are denied to black men and women.  Philandro Castile murdered for owning a gun legally. I am so fucking sick of this world of bullshit, racism and hypocrisy.

The real terrorism in this world is the status quo.  It’s pervasive, nuanced, overt, structural and deeply embedded as it terrorizes and kills those who are different or refuse to swallow bullshit.  It kills the soul and the heart follows as more people live dead.  It denies targeted ethnic groups safety then blames them for their deaths. Denies those groups decent education, funneling them to prisons and forced servitude then label them lazy and violent.

I am so fucking sick of the status quo. I understand why someone tired of this world would say, I am going but not alone.  That is a person defeated by a ruthless system where recourse or justice is an illusion, not accessible in this life or world.

Yes, I am so fucking sick of this world and I don’t give a fuck whether what I write is proper or not.

Fuck this world!!! #FUCKTHISWORLD #IAmSoFuckingSickOfThisWorld

The US Spends Over 55cents Of Each Tax Dollar On The Military

A nation that continues year after year to spend more money on military defense than on programs of social uplift is approaching spiritual doom. -Martin Luther King Jr.

US military is very powerful, it can nuke spiritual doom.   Americans need not fear loss of the sentiments of humanity.  We have the military! Look how well they have done so far.  We have nothing to fear.

Unarmed Truth and Unconditional Love

I believe that unarmed truth and unconditional love will have the final word in reality. This is why right, temporarily defeated, is stronger than evil triumphant. -Martin Luther King Jr.

A bit of hope that eventually truth and love conquer all. But how long is eventually? And is this really so?

Know Your Rights

An individual has not started living until he can rise above the narrow confines of his individualistic concerns to the broader concerns of all humanity. -Martin Luther King Jr.

Colin Kaepernick is living.  Became a fan of Kaepernick not because of his football skills but because of his anthem protest. TBH, didn’t know who he was until then.   He got hell, football fans were pissed:  How dare he use his position to call attention to the plight of PoC, whose human rights were violated and abused daily?  How dare he publicly  acknowledge police brutality? Or that #BlackLivesMatter?

In support, I decided to sit during the anthem at football games.  While it felt odd as everyone around me stood and some displayed disapproval,  it was liberating to step outside the box of hypocrisy.

Initially, was disappointed  when I read  his Know Your Rights Camp’s Ten-Point Program.  How were granola-bar rights going to help underprivileged  kids with police encounters? Several days later the light bulb went on, these were basic human needs.

For many inner city underprivileged kids, such basic human needs were lacking and not a given. Food, shelter, health and a sense of safety were daily challenges and unmet needs.  Many don’t  know they deserve to be loved and nurtured.

Inspired by the Black Panthers’ “Ten-Point Program” (per the Daily News), Kaepernick’s Know Your Rights (per Washington Post):

1. You have the right to be free.

2. You have the right to be healthy.

3.  You have the right to be brilliant.

4.  You have the right to be safe.

5.  You have the right be loved.

6.  You have the right to be courageous.

7.  You have the right to be alive.

8.  You have the right to be trusted.

9.  You have the right to be educated.

10.  You have the right to know your rights.

Silence

Our lives begin to end the day we become silent about things that matter. -Martin Luther King Jr.

In the US, we have many living dead and their silence deafening in the midst of cries for justice.  Fortunately, not everyone is silent.

Police Violence: Use of Tasers For Walking

“A lawsuit has been filed on behalf of the family, including the 7 month old son, of 24 year old Gregory Towns, who died after being tased 13 times in 29 minutes. Two officers repeatedly shocked this man’s body for a total of 47 seconds… while unarmed and handcuffed.”

“Police found Towns sitting down and out of breath after a short foot chase. He asked officers at least ten times to be allowed to rest before going with them, according to AJC. The cops then decided to use their weapons as a cattle prod to force the weak man to walk, instead of just letting him catch his breath.”

“While we often ask “why didn’t that cop use a taser instead of his gun?”, it is important to remember that while a person is less likely to die from a taser shock than a gun shot, they are still a weapon, and still often unnecessary and lethal.”

Using tasers to hasten the arrest process for injured citizens who have difficulty breathing has no place in American medicine. I doubt the manufacturer of tasers would make such recommendations to any law enforcement official. There are no medical indications for tasers.

Someone who is having difficulty breathing needs an ambulance. Any fool knows that.

This is wrongful death due to the off-label use of tasers. The police did not act in accordance with standard practice or protocols for tasers.

Personnel should consider that exposure to the ECW [Taser]  for longer than 15 seconds (whether due to multiple applications or continuous cycling) may increase the risk of death or serious injury.”  (3)

Police are not allowed to make medical decisions, yet they are (with uniformly poor outcomes) increasing fatalities and disability cases.

Systemic violence within law enforcement serves to compound the burgeoning unlawful, unethical, and inhumane actions that lead to physical and mental disorders. When a disorder is exploited by law enforcement for profit or abuse, it can only be described as an act of terrorism.

A public health emergency exists for people with depression, anxiety, PTSD, and Asperger syndrome. People with mental and developmental disorders may not understand commands screamed at them by an irate officer pointing a gun, and the wrong reaction could be fatal.

The medical community cannot stand by and watch patients slaughtered, knowing that they are at very high risk for police violence and its associated morbidity and mortality.
