Did it! I am officially homeless. Oddly enough, I feel light.
It was a challenge to move my stuff. I was not able to donate to the African Council Center. It turned out they did not have the facility or means. In any event, left in the apartment is what I could not take.
Everything that could go wrong did, but I had my children and friends who stepped in to hold my hand and make a move possible. Without them, I’d still be in the apartment, breathing mole and concerned about my safety. I appreciated their patience, kindness, and love.
Often I hear people brag about their accomplishments and how they struggled alone and achieved success by the strength of their determination. Forgotten is that we seldom achieve success on our own. We have a network, it might not be strong, but it is there to help. The strength of that network is dependent on our efforts to nurture it. That is how we build trust in each other. Without trust, there is no network or relationship.
I used to think an individualistic approach was the way to go. That way, you owe no one anything, and you don’t have to listen to anyone or deal with conflicts. You are self-reliant. How naive was that?
Isn’t it much better to create a network of shared values where you support and help each other towards successful outcomes?

I don’t have a home or place of my own. I living with my son for the moment.

Angela I’m glad you realize we can’t and shouldn’t make it in this world alone especially now!
In the Bible one of the commandments of our Holy Father is to help the widow, fatherless and poor. If this was done on a consistent basis what a much better world we would have!

From what I’ve seen and read in your Bible, your Holy Father only acts this way himself when people act like his slave, and are punished and send to Hell if they don’t.
